As our big head of the year was cancelled, our boys eight went down to Quintin to have some race practice. The conditions were good and the lads had an excellent row finishing the course in 11 mins 37 seconds, just 5 seconds off winning their S4 category.
They came 10th overall (out of 60), and beat the senior mens eight by 9 seconds!!!

Stourport Small Boats Head
Our small boats head was a quiet affair this year, with the Indoor Rowing Championships and Remembracne Sunday, there were many reasons to stay away. However, the clubs which did turn up would of had an enjoyable day, with everything running smoothly and on time. The weather was great for this time of year, and while there were no new course records, there were some close races throughout the day.

The Indoor Rowing Championships
Well done to Gary Hickman, who travelled to the indoor rowing championships to compete in the J14 section of the ergo trials. Gary came an amazing 6th out of 87 competitors. Definitely one to watch for the future!!!
The GB Trials - Boston
This year 2 juniors from Stourport went to the Under 18's Trials in Boston.
Nikki Price raced in the U16 division, coming 8th in her age group and progressing to the next round! Well done Nikki!
Matt Brighton also competed in the U16's section coming 12th. Well done to Matt, who is also progressing to the next stage of the competition!
We hope to see the both of you competing in the GB-France match in the summer!
A quick mention also goes out to laura Ray who missed out on the trials because of a dislocated knee. Hope you get better soon.

This new head of 2500m is finally starting to make an impact with many other clubs, becoming a favourite to open the new season with. This years entry was the biggest we've had so far, which meant lots of competitive racing for all.

Evesham Junior(Oarsome)Head
This was the first head where both Pete's younger juniors and the usual old timers(Fred's squad) all travelled together in force to race. It was a huge team effort to get everybody on and off the water, boats rigged and the trailer loaded. There were lots of silver and bronze medals awarded, so well done to all those who won one the weekend. However, a special mention goes out to the J13 girls who got on in the wrong division(lol), and then raced boys.
