This year only 13 juniors travelled out to France, with Fred and Carol, for the hardest but most satisfying camp yet.
A few Differences this year ...
1) With so few of us going, a minibus was not needed
2) We took the overnight ferry so that we didn't miss a day of rowing.
3) It was sunny all week, with temperatures reaching 25*C.
4) The were so few of us, we could all fit in the living room and still think to ourselves "where is everybody?".
5) We followed the training plan all week for the first time ever!
6) I saw everybody do coursework/revision at least once.
France camp this year was a huge success. On top of rowing, studying, socialising, visiting the pub and shopping, we managed to put half a conservatory up!
There was a relaxed feel about the whole trip, where we didn't have to queue for a shower and could quite easily find time for ourselves.
The most stressful part of the trip came everytime we ran into frenchie! Either trying to coach us or making jokes that weren't funny, we couldn't wait to get away.
