About SBC
If you havent heard of Stourport Boat Club, where have you been these last few years?

Our junior section is known far and wide across the rowing circles in the UK and France. We travel all over the country, all year around, competing at many different levels for the club. We have won national championships and always clean up at the local regattas, having tons of fun along the way, (we also know how to party, but don't tell the coaches what we get upto!)

A lot of this is due to the hard work of the kids and the coaches, who give up huge amounts of their time for the sport. Fred, our head coach, trains us from the launch and carts all the boats (and us) to all the regattas. Duncan is our 'on the water' coach, who is often out in his stampfli with a flock of single scullers around him. And then there's Pete who starts all the 'evil children' off, taking them out for their first few outings.

The special thing about SBC is the people. Nobody is in too much of a rush to stop and have a chat or a laugh. We work as a unit, and no matter your age, we all enjoy each others company.

I remember when I joined the boat club, and I have never been welcomed anywhere in the same way again. Everyone was great fun and accepted me into the group straight away. It felt like I had found somewhere I could be myself and not have to worry about what others thought of me. I had found my second home (lol).

I think this is why we are such a successful junior section. We all enjoy spending our time down the club, and training is never a chore.
Our trailer always looks like this everytime we go to a regatta! Really full!
